Tom Baker Returns Rumour # 950

So, we get this rumour once a year, and however lovely and nostalically nice it might seem, let’s face it, it is unlikely to happen.

Sky TV of all places reckon that Tom – the legendary and iconic Fourth Doctor – is making a return to the show in the next full series of Doctor Who, in 2010.

Apparently the BBC and Tom’s agency have declined to comment on the rumour – although we can only take Sky’s word for it that they’ve even been asked.

Such a return would make the return of Paul McGann look like a regular piece of casting… no one knows yet what role Tom may or may not be playing, but let’s face it if it’s true it would be totally marvellous.  My money is on Rasputin…

Of course, there have been rumours of a role for Brian Blessed… perhaps they’re filming a version of The Dark Dimension…?
