Russell T wants Catherine Z

Unlikely as it may seem, Russell T Davies wants Welsh beauty and vocal Help the Aged supporter Catherine Zeta Jones to appear in a Doctor Who movie, should it ever occur.

You may recall that back in late August, both Jane Tranter and Steven Moffat commented on the suggested movie, with Grand Moff noting that any big screen development should be produced without disruption to the series.

The actress – who will stop at nothing to get what she wants (allegedly) – is now a Hollywood star, but was once a quietly attractive sultry siren in the David Jason drama The Darling Buds of May.

Says Davies:

"Being from Wales myself, I’d love to have Catherine Zeta Jones as a companion for the Doctor."

Better suggestion than Shirley Bassey, I suppose.

On the matter of replacing David Tennant for a movie, Davies rightly emphasised that…

"…to have anyone else would be inconceivable"

"I haven’t had time to spit, let alone make a film. It would be hard but it’s a lovely idea."
