Gongs for Tate and Tennant

Well done to Doctor Who stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate, winners of Best Drama Actor and Best Drama Actress at the TV Quick and TV Choice Awards ceremony last night.

Doctor Who itself was named Best Loved Drama, and the plaudits for genre programming continued with Life on Mars sequel Ashes to Ashes being voited Best New Drama.

Tate may (or may not…) have left Doctor Who behind, but with the most cut-price of the high-profile awards ceremonies now behinds us, few would bet that this is the last we will see of Tate and Tennant picking up awards between now and April.

A selection of photos of the winners is available at the BBC Newsbeat website, while there’s a lot more on the award and what it might mean to Catherine Tate at Quintessential Comedy.
