Catherine Tate Rumours

The rumourmill has gone into overdirve this morning with rumours – not for the first time – of a return to Doctor Who for Catherine Tate and Bernard Cribbins!

One newspaper – that we don’t link to for a myriad of moral reasons – has quoted a BBC insider as saying:

“Fans will be delighted to see Catherine back. She was one of the wackiest companions of all time and she brought heaps of humour."

(The insider shouldn’t be too hard to track down, either – who says "wackiest" these days? Is the insider Timmy Mallet?)

Following Donna’s departure through having her mind wiped, Tate recently told Doctor Who Magazine:

"In science fiction, anything is possible."

Interestingly, this is a very similar statement as that made by Mickey Smith actor Noel Clarke last year.

Tate and Cribbins are expected to return in one of the 2009 Doctor Who specials.
