BBC Activity Fuels Movie Rumours

Bonkers Doctor Who Movie rumours seem to have been further fuelled in the past few days with the announcement of a new commercial wing – BBC Worldwide West Coast.

BBCWWC will be headed up by Jane Tranter, the woman responsible for making sure we got quality shows like the reimagined Doctor Who and Life on Mars. Insiders report that BBCWWC will concentrate on development and production of shows for not only the BBC, but US and international television.

Another familiar name, Doctor Who executive producer and BBC Wales head of drama Julie Gardner is also linked with a role in BBCWWC, which leaves us wondering if her appearance at Comic-Con last month was fuelled not only by a desire to talk to a lot of comic fans (!) but also a desire to check the place out.
