Voyage Script Auctioned

A David Tennant-signed script of the 2007 Christmas adventure Voyage of the Damned which co-starred Kylie Minogue has been sold at auction for a sum of £1,100.

Doctor Who fan Daniel Simmonds, 33, of Kettering heard about the charity auction organised by legal services company DLA Piper to raise money for hospices in Sheffield and Rotherham (South Yorkshire).

"I’m thrilled to have secured the script. I’m a life long fan of Doctor Who and have been collecting memorabilia for more than 25 years.

"I saw the auction advertised on a fan site and knew I had to bid, particularly as both my children are now massive fans of the show too."

Along with a life-sized "Monopoly" event on the streets of Sheffield, over £11,000 was raised.

DLA Piper’s Richard Norman helped to organise the fundraiser.

"Daniel was a phone bidder on the night and I’m really pleased that a true collector and fan of the show has secured this script, raising lots of money for charity at the same time."
