Catherine Tate Morning

Doctor Who co-star Catherine Tate’s recent appearance on ITV1’s This Morning to promote the play Under the Blue Sky has been made available as streaming video on the ITV website.

Says Catherine of her roll as a randy maths teacher:

"This kind of character is someone I haven’t played before. Michelle is very out there and very sexually liberated. I think she is a heroine of our time, but the one thing she isn’t is self-pitying. She’ll never ask for pity and she’ll never be a victim, but at the end of the act, yes she is being taken against her will."

"The character gave me the chance to throw off some of the shackles, and try and get rid of some of the things which follow me around.”

Under the Blue Sky runs until September 20th at the Duke of York Theatre in London’s West End.
