The BBC has released details of it’s Autumn season on BBC Two, one of the highlights of which is the David Tennant and Andy Serkis dramatisation of a correspondence-based friendship between Arthur Eddington and Albert Einstein.

Einstein and Eddington follows the most influential scientist of the 20th century’s relationship with the prominent British astrophysicist who championed his theories.

Albert Einstein spent years working on his General Theory of Relativity, which threatened to overturn two centuries of Newtonian certainty. Arthur Eddington was a prominent British astrophysicist who, as a Quaker, believed that "truth knows no boundaries" and bravely championed Einstein’s theories while Britain rejected anything German.

Lord of the Rings star Serkis plays Albert Einstein, while David Tennant portrays Arthur Eddington.
