Sarah Jane News (SPOILER)

Don’t read too much into this – but note the SPOILER warning above. That means, spoilerphobes, that you really, REALLY shouldn’t come any further for risk of spoiling a very pleasant surprise in a future episode…

So, although reports have yet to be confirmed by the BBC, it would appear that (right-click and drag) Nicholas Courtney has returned to the Doctor Who universe at last!

On-set photographs from the second production run of The Sarah Jane Adventures show our heroine alongside (right-click and drag) UNIT’s greatest leader, Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart.

Not only that, but he’s also rumoured to be on hand to defeat a particularly squat and often visually identical alien race, while Invasion of the Bane villainess Miss Wormwood is also on the cards for a return.

Sadly though, it seems that the entertaining characters of Maria Jackson, her dad and hilariously selfish estranged mother are set to leave.

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era. His favourite stories are Inferno, The Seeds of Doom and Human Nature (although The Empty Child, Blink and Utopia all come close). When he’s not bossing around the news team, Christian is a freelance writer specialising in mobile technology and domestic computing, and enjoys classic rock, cooking and spending time in the countryside with his wife and young children. You can find him on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
