Pegg on Who

Comedy writer and actor Simon Pegg has revealed how much he would love to play the Doctor…

…not much!

The Long Game co-star, whose credits include Spaced, Shaun of the Dead and Run, Fat Boy, Run was speaking recently about working in the US. On the subject of working in the UK again, he was asked about one particular starring role…

"Being the Doctor? I don’t think so. First, I’m really loving doing movies. I’m really enjoying working in the U.S.
"Second, I really love Doctor Who and would hate to sit down on Saturday night and have it be me.
"David Tennant has done an incredible job – he’ll be a tough act to follow. I would feel awful if I messed up the franchise by just being rubbish."

I admire his honesty. Although I think he’s wrong, of course, but then there are better candidates out there – David Tennant, for one…
