Tate Robbed of Comedy Award

It has been revealed by broadcasting watchdog OFCOM that the 2005 British Comedy Peoples Choice Award was wrongly awarded to Saturday Night Takeaway presenters Ant and Dec.

And following the result of an inquiry into the practices of ITV phone voting, the Geordie duo have returned the award.

There is as yet no news as to whether Tate, whose The Catherine Tate Show had in fact received more votes, than Saturday Night Takeaway will receive the award, or if she even wants it.

It is believed that singer Robbie Williams had been guaranteed the opportunity to present and award to Ant and Dec if he was to appear.
