Welsh BAFTA, Boyo

Well done once more to Doctor Who which continues to fly the flag for Welsh television and entertainment – the show picked up six BAFTA awards, including best drama series and best screenwriter,

Meanwhile the sci-fi thriller Torchwood, won an award for best costume. Given the series’ content, I can’t help but think that was a bit token, but there you go.

Blue Peter presenter and Cyberman Gethin Jones hosted the ceremony at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay, with outgoing producer Phil Collinson on hand to pick up the award for best drama series while James Strong took the gong for best drama director.

Ray Holman was presented with the award for award for best costume.

Once more then, a successful night for BBC Wales, the biggest centre of television production in the UK outside of London and Manchester.
