Paul O’Grady to Guest?

The climax of Series 4 of Doctor Who looks as though it might have a similar tone to those previous conclusions penned by Russell T Davies if recent reports are anything to go by.

It is alleged that former drag act and TV chat show presenter Paul O’Grady – best known for the sour Lily Savage (the “Birkenhead Bombshell”) – has been asked to appear in Doctor Who!

According to a couple of tabloid sources, and Digital Spy, the TV presenter will play himself in a scene reminiscent of those in Army of Ghosts.

A BBC source revealed that O’Grady had been wanting to appear on the show for some time and his role would be a little more “sinister” than people are used to.

“Paul has been desperate to be on the show for ages and asked if he could be a guest star,” revealed the BBC insider.

“Fortunately Who creator Russell T Davies is a big fan of his too, and jumped at the chance.

“We’ve had to wait until his chatshow is filming again so we can shoot him on the set.

“It will be the usual camp Paul – just maybe a bit more sinister.”

Sinister is good; camp – as we all know in Doctor Who – can often go terribly wrong.

We await the appearance with very baited breath.
