Doctor Who Comic Delayed

It was disappointing to hear that the IDW Doctor Who comic has been delayed – but good news is it should be out today!

IDW1 There’s also more to see at the quite excellent comics blog Sequentially Speaking, who seem as excited by the project as we are.

The reasons by the delay are not given, however it is expected that these have been ironed out and no delays will occur with the remaining issues.

Titled “Doctor Who”, the new comic book begins with the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones enjoying adventures in time and space. Written by Gary Russell, little is known of the comic’s direction or the tone of the material at this stage, although it is generally hoped that the content will be similarly pitched to match (or surpass?) the quality of the Doctor Who Magazine comic strip’s heyday, from 1996-2005.

If they can get close to this period (which featured year-spanning storylines engulfing the adventures of the Eighth Doctor) then we’re definitely in for a treat.
