Tate Bovvers Residents for Brew

Filming for Doctor Who S4 recently saw a tired Catherine Tate dropping in on Wendy Lewis’ house, in Heol Gabriel, in the Whitchurch area of Cardiff!

While shooting scenes outside, show staff asked if Tate could take a short break inside, away from the cold, prompting Mrs Lewis to say yes and to ring her 15-year-old grandson Ross who then somehow escaped school alongside classmates Victoria Spernaes and Yasmin Akbari.

Apparently, Catherine Tate then joined them for tea and Welshcakes, making herself comfortable by putting her feet on the sofa. She wouldn’t have got away with that type of behaviour in MY house, I can tell you…

Ross told reporters:

“Yasmin was so surprised she said, ‘Oh my God!’ and then Catherine repeated it straight away in the voice of Lauren (one of her sketch show characters).”

The teenager added that Tate also gave Yasmin a hug when she asked for one.

“She was so funny, absolutely wicked and really down to earth,” he told the Echo. “She didn’t mind signing autographs or posing for photographs.”

Kind of a nice story, eh? Then again, it i nearly Christmas…
