Sonic Handbags?

icwales.co.uk has reported a Western Mail story in which it is suggested that Catherine Tate and Billie Piper – Donna Noble and Rose Tyler in some episodes of Doctor Who Series 4 – have a problem getting on

It is reported that during a break in filming at Birchgrove near Cardiff last Thursday, Tate and Piper “maintained a frosty silence” during several hours off-screen waiting.

Piper, 25, who was back working on Doctor Who after her success in The Secret Diary of a Call Girl, was seen laughing and joking with the film crew. But her mood apparently changed when she came face to face with Tate.

Onlooker Abigail O’Reilly, 18, said, “It was quite cold but you could see from a distance that Billie and Catherine were ice-cool with each other.

“Catherine just didn’t look happy and Billie was obviously bored. She was yawning a lot.”

And those pesky insiders have been at it again, claiming that a rivalry between the pair has developed over who should have top billing in the new series, widely expected to begin in March.

The BBC meanwhile have dismissed reports as “Complete rubbish.”
