Say No To Saunders!

Female Doctor stories abound in the tabloid press as several outlets have “comedian” and “actress” Jennifer Saunders named as a potential lead for one of the Doctor Who specials in 2009.

Given that there is plenty to talk about surrounding Voyage of the Damned, one can hardly put this down to silly season tabloid hackery, can one?

The Absolutely Fabulous and French & Saunders star (who has done loads more but it’s that bad everyone forgets it – see The Life and Times of Vivien Vile, if you dare…) is supposedly “in talks” with the producers.

“An insider” apparently said:

“She’s in the running and we all think she would be fantastic.”

“Fantastic”?! A Female Doctor can not possibly be “Fantastic”, in much the same way that a female Batman can only be “Holy Full Moon, Lady Batman!”

The “No!” campaign starts here!
