Fifth’s Daughter

Daughter of Fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison – last seen in the role just weeks ago oin the Children in Need special Time Crash – and successful actress in her own right Georgia Moffett has been cast in a key role in Series 4 of Doctor Who, revealed Doctor Who Magazine 390.

Having already appeared opposite her father in the BBC One comedy Fear, Stress and Anger, as well as his ITV series The Last Detective, Georgia – whose surname is the actual family name – first television role was back in 1999 on the ITV rural medical drama Peak Practice. From Digital Spy:

The show’s producer Phil Collinson told Doctor Who Magazine about the decision to cast Moffett, whose father played the popular Time Lord in the classic series: “Fans might recognise that name… but that’s not why we cast her. She’s a very fine actor – in fact, she’s been lined up for a very long time, since we auditioned Georgia for the Agatha Christie episode.

“But as soon as we saw her, we realised there was a much bigger and better part later on in the series… so Georgia kindly waited until the time was right. It’s a role now one will ever forget!”

A talented actress, Georgia should add some much needed glamour to Series 4 of Doctor Who…
