Sec-sy Christmas

Christmas is just TEN WEEKS away, and lots of talk is of MP3 Barbie and Optimus Prime Voice Changer helmets taking Doctor Who’s Christmas Crown… but certain pervy looking Dalek might have something to say…

The Dalek Sec Voice Changer Mask looks rather more… adult than the Cyberman precursor, and is making waves in the blog world, with Gizmodo giving it the thumbs up (I think they were thumbs)

Is this Dalek Sec Hybrid Voice Changer Mask better than an Optimus Prime Helmet? Of course it is.

The Dalek-Human hybrid appeared in the British show’s Daleks in Manhattan episode. This mask, however, is expected to be the holiday hit of the season on the toy front.

One of Gizmodo’s poster’s remarked:

I don’t know what a Dalek is, but invite six girls over and you’ve got a party!

Thank goodness it isn’t just me then. And according to Media Guardian:

It will drive the rest of the family to distraction within minutes of being unwrapped, but a new Dalek mask made of flesh-pink ribbed plastic will be one of the must-have toys this Christmas, retailers predicted yesterday.

The comments you can make about the mask are endless. Given that Doctor Who has a large gay following, you could write an entire sitcom about this mask.

Elsewhere, Character has much more in store toy-wise for Doctor Who fans. Apparently the toy maker

is finalising production of a limited edition radio-controlled Dalek, 18 inches in height, due in the shops in time for Christmas, and due to retail for £99.99. A new range of “classic figures”, including older Doctors, is also in the pipeline.

You can buy the Dalek Sec Hybrid Voice FX Mask from Amazon for £34.50
