Who-Go’s There!

Following writer Steven Moffatt’s success in last years Hugo Awards for Best Dramatic Presentation (short form) with Doctor Who Series 1’s The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances comes news that further three Series 2 adventures have been nominated…

According to The Stage (initially from Paul Cornell’s blog):

The episodes that have been nominated are:

* School Reunion by Toby Whithouse, which saw former companion Sarah Jane Smith reunited with the Doctor, causing Rose to question whether her time travelling would one day come to an end;

* The Girl in the Fireplace by Steven Moffatt, with the Doctor chasing a cadre of clockwork robots through various time zones in pre-revolutionary France in order to save Madame de Pompadour from having her brain cut out and inserted into the central computer of a stricken spaceship; and

* the season finale double-bill of Army of Ghosts and Doomsday by Russell T Davies, with alternate universe Cybermen taking over the Earth, hordes of Daleks in the skies above Canary Wharf, and leaving Rose and her family stranded in a parallel world with no chance of ever returning.

These episodes are up against an episode of Battlestar Gallactica and an episode of Stargate SG-1. If Kasterborous had a vote it would be for The Girl in the Fireplace

…and speaking of which it seems that the two stars or that episode – Doctor Who leading man David Tennant and his leading lady Sophia Myles – have some Doctor Who-themed fun in the bedroom. David has rarely spoken of his private life, but was talked into revealing all by Radio One DJ Chris Moyles, reports The Star. Look away now, children…

…Motormouth DJ Chris Moyles, 33, got him to lift the lid on their sizzling secrets when Scotsman Tennant was a guest on his Radio 1 show yesterday.

Moyles said: “Does Sophia often ask: ‘Do the Doctor voice for me’?

“When you’re lying in bed together, does she say: ‘Talk English to me’? Do you play dress-up?”

Giggling David, who sports plimsolls and a long coat as the Doctor, told him: “I don’t want to give away all my bedtime secrets.

“All I’m saying is that she likes it when I’m dressed up as The Doctor!”
