Radio Times Cover May 9th

We’ve received the cover of the new Radio Times, it features a Cyberman head from the upcoming two parter, Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel. Frankly I’m licking my lips in anticipation of saturdays showing, I’ve got a feeling we might be in for a classic.

Doctor Who PosterThe New Radio Times also comes with a fabulous free sticker book, a poster and a packet of 6 stickers from Merlin, so its well worth getting your hands on it, I certainly will be.

PLUS – the BBC’s Official Doctor Who site has a nice high resolution image of the Radio Times cover, as well as news of a documentary on BBC3…

There’s a new hour-long documentary celebrating the return of the Cybermen on BBC Four at 8.15pm on Saturday 13 May (right after Doctor Who Confidential finishes on BBC Three). Machine Men looks back at robots, cyborgs and androids in fact and fiction, from C-3PO in Star Wars through to Marvin the Paranoid Android and – of course – the terrible Cybermen.

And kids magazine show “Blue Peter” will be showing behind-the-scenes footage of Rise of the Cybermen in it’s Monday 15th May edition.

On the subject of the new Cybermen stories, theres some very good feature articles in this months Starburst, issue #337. Theres an interview with Tom McCrae, the writer of the two parter, as well as an interview with Neill Gorton, who worked on the process of updating the Cybermen. Theres also a word with Steven Moffat, writer of the recent Girl in the Fireplace. The articles are lavished with some lovely photographs. Theres also some tv reviews of New Earth and Tooth and Claw to get into. Starburst is on sale now and is £3.99 at all good retailers.
