Celebrated Doctor Who artist Andrew Skilleter has been very busy of late, with a new website and a Reeltime Pictures Myth Makers DVD.

The artist and illustrator, whose works have been showcased in book form in the excellent Black Light and The Cybermen (with David Banks) is best known for his work for BBC Video, in particular his cover of The Deadly Assassin which can be viewed in part at his website www.andrewskilleter.com.

The Myth Makers DVD features Andrew in his own home, discussing his becoming an artists and his association with Doctor Who.     Andrew Skilleter’s involvement with Doctor Who has spanned some 26 years.

    He’s probably best known for the many cover illustrations he has painted for Target and Virgin books and the BBC video covers but there is a much larger canon of work including books, prints and calendars.

    In this Myth Makers, we travel to his home in Dorset to discuss how Andrew became an artist and how his association with Doctor Who came about.

    We also find out about the many other areas his talent explores and the inspiration behind his work.

    Lavishly illustrated with examples of his work, this is a Myth Makers not to be missed.

    Andrew has released seven signed prints, four of which are the first releases in a new collectable series, the Cover Collection, featuring his covers from the famous Doctor Who Target novelisations and the BBC Video cassettes. The images are stunningly reproduced from the original paintings on high quality 240 gm Premium Paper, A4 size and each feature title graphics. Each produced, published and personally signed by Andrew Skilleter.

    The first four are Target/WHAllen covers : The Five Doctors and The Dalek Omnibus, BBC Video covers: The Deadly Assassin & Earthshock. The other releases are a new painting of the Ninth Doctor & Rose, Davros & the Daleks & Servalan from Blakes’s 7. There will be new releases throughout 2006.
