Press Clips and Build Up

Quite a bit to get through here, so let’s start wth the press clips!

First of all, a glance on the BBC Hompage will probably alert your attention – either through the banner or the BBC1 link – that Doctor Who is back soon on Christmas Day.

It may also interest to know that Ms Billie Piper has been pipped (“Billie Pipped!” says The Star) to the role of a Bond girl in the upcoming “James Bond” movie by South African beauty Charlize Theron. The movie stars some bloke who will have to make a massively good impression to be remembered afterwards.

According to another UK tabloid The Sun, Doctor Who and Billie Piper are possible award-winners in next January’s South Bank Show Awards.

Manchester Online previews next Monday’s David Tennant-starring ITV drama “Secret Smile” in which he stars alongside ex-”Casualty” actress Clare Goose. The two-parter is base don Nikki French’s novel:

He heads the cast as Brendan Block, an entrepreneur who enjoys a 10-day fling with Miranda Cotton, played by Shaun of the Dead star Kate Ashfield.

His creepy behaviour makes her end their relationship, but it seems he won’t let her go easily, and plots revenge by seducing her sister Kerry.

Five weeks later, the new couple announce their engagement.

Indiantelevision.com has reported on the bbcshop.com’s 40% sales increase, and lists some of their merchandise, naturally focussing on the Doctor Who range.

The Sunday Mail’s Lifestyle section lists David Tennant and Billie Piper amongst this year’s star Christmas Lights switcher-oners.

And finally tvshowsondvd.com has a few screenshots taken from the upcoming Region 1 DVD release of Doctor Who Series 1. You can find more screenshots by following the links therein.
