DVD News

Ladies and gentlemen, above is the front cover of the Doctor Who Series 1 Volume 4, courtesy of EyeofHorus.org.uk. The DVD is due for release on September 5th, and features the final three episodes of the series, Boom Town, Bad Wolf and Parting of the Ways.

For those that haven’t seen the episodes, they basically emphasise the “Bad Wolf” phenomenon in the show and lead through to the Dalek invasion of Earth and the Doctor’s regeneration.

The DVD can be ordered from the BBC Shop

Billie Piper’s film “Spirit Trap” is due for release in August, and carries the tagline “This house has a secret that won’t let you go.” Billie plays “Jenny”, alongside Patrick Troughton’s grandson Sam. More information is available via the IMdb entry for the movie.

The recent news in the papers regarding David Tennant’s new outfit is available in it’s original form from the BBC Press Office

In their article about BBC2’s upcoming ancient “Rome” epic drama, MediaGuardian claims:

That is more than four times what the BBC is normally able to spend on even its most expensive costume dramas, or on the recent Doctor Who revival, which cost £1.2m per episode.

MediaGuardian also reports that despite Doctor Who’s Saturday night dominance, ITV Drama is still pulling in more viewers overall than the BBC brand. Luckily Doctor Who is 4th.
