New Series Casting Update

Doctor Who Magazine has confirmed the additions of some key cast members to the new series. Richard Wilson, best known to television viewers as Victor Meldrew in “One Foot in the Grave” will appear in the story The Empty Child, (episodes 9 & 10 which have been written by Steven Moffat). Wilson is also known for appearing in early 80s ITV sitcom “Only When I Laugh” and recently appeared alongside Mark Benton in “King of Fridges” for ITV.

Zoe Wanamaker, star of “My Family” and “Love Hurts” has also been cast in an unknown role which series producer Phil Collinson is keeping a secret.

As earlier reported, respected British comedy actor Simon Pegg is appearing in the series in Russell T Davies’ The Long Game (Episode 7). Pegg’s credits include the movie “Shaun of the Dead” and television series “The Big Train” (1998), “Hippies” (1997), “Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)” (2000) and of course “Spaced” (1999-2002).

Tamsin Grieg, star of C4′s “The Green Wing” and “Black Books” also appears in The Long Game
