BBC Books Release News

BBC Books have this month released Chris Boucher’s Match of the Day as their Past Doctor book. Featuring the Fourth Doctor and Leela, Boucher’s tale takes them to a planet where killing is a way of life. Boucher has again written a novel for his companion Leela, and it promises to be a thrilling adventure. January’s Doctor Who Magazine also features an interview with the writer.

Also released this month is a CD of 1976 audio adventure Doctor Who and the Pescatons, featuring Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen. The story features giant shark-like creatures attacking London.

Finally in January, the BBC release Horror of Fang Rock on DVD. The 1977 story again features Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor, and is written by Terrance Dicks. A well-written, claustrophic adventure, Horror of Fang Rock also includes an interview with the story’s director Paddy Russell and another with Dicks himself.
